There is a brand new Heinemann Explore product available for science at KS2. Explore Active Science contains nearly a hundred highly interactive lessons featuring brand new quizzes, activities, fun facts and much more.

Explore Active allows you to customize lessons to your needs and save them to your computer.

Young Explorer users can now choose between differentiated text levels on any page. Click the blue circle at the bottom of a Young Explorer page to switch reading level.

Can I see how Heinemann Explore works before subscribing?
Yes, you can take out a free trial that allows you full access to Heinemann Explore for 30 days. This also applies to Young Explorer.

Why not sign up for a free trial today?

How does the free trial work?
Click ’Free Trial’ from this page then follow the on-screen instructions and submit your electronic application.

You will receive a username and password by email which will give you access to the site for 30 days.

Are Heinemann Explore and Young Explorer available on CD?
Yes. You can purchase CD versions of Young Explorer and all Explore modules.

Explore CD-ROMs come in Single User (individual) and Multi User (school network) versions.

What happens when I subscribe?
When you subscribe to any of the Heinemann Explore modules (or Young Explorer) we will send you a User Manual containing a full explanation of the material available on the site, detailed curriculum links and suggestions to help you make the best use of our products in the classroom or library.

Will Heinemann Explore run on my computer?
Heinemann Explore and Young Explorer will run on PCs and Macs and on standalone machines and networks. They run best on Internet Explorer version 5.0 and above. A free download of Flash player is needed to access interactive content.

How soon will I get access to the site?
LEA-funded schools and Heinemann account customers will be issued with an administrator login for immediate access to the full service and can pay within 30 days of the invoice being issued. All other customers must pay in advance of the login being issued, either by credit card or on receipt of an invoice.

How many people can use Heinemann Explore at a time?
An online subscription grants unlimited access to everyone at your school or purchasing institution.

The same applies if you purchase a Multi User CD of an Explore product. Single User Explore CDs are for one computer only.

Can I use Heinemann Explore out of school hours or at home?
Providing you are a registered user, you are welcome to use Heinemann Explore at home. It is up to individual/purchasing institutions to form a policy on whether to allow pupils access to the site out of school hours.

Can I print out material?
You are welcome to print out material for your own use, but you need to be aware that copyright restrictions apply for any other use of the material.

How much material is there in an Explore module?
Each module contains thousands of articles and images, hundreds of activities, lessons and tests, interactive content, and more!

If you take out a free trial, you can try out all these features with your classes for 30 days.

How would we use Heinemann Explore in the school?
Explore can be used for research, topic work or homework by individuals or groups in the classroom or library. It can be used on an interactive whiteboard for whole class teaching. Suggestions for using the material are contained within the User Manual that accompanies the subscription.
